GLENNA JOYCE ZAINE

(nee BARTLETT)

After a four-year stoic fight with ALS, Glenna passed away peacefully with her children by her side at Lake House Palliative Care Centre in Toronto.

Glenna will be lovingly remembered by her children, Jared (Jennifer), Barkley (Corrie), Charmaine, and Marnie. Predeceased by her father Bud Bartlett, mother Fran Rundle, and elder sister Wendy Erb, Glenna will be dearly missed by brothers, Ron and Rick Bartlett and sister Judy Christie.

Also fondly remembered by siblings-in-law Marlene, Lori, and Kent, and all her nieces and nephews. Affectionately known as Gigi and Grammy, Glenna will be missed by ten grandchildren, ages 11 to 27.

Glenna loved traveling, ebike riding, and gardening, and was an avid sports fan, especially the Jays. Always ready for quality moments, Glenna lead an adventurous life and connected deeply with friends and coworkers.

Glenna's wishes were to be cremated. The family will hold a Celebration of Life later in 2026.

In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to ALS Canada in Glenna's memory.

  • I grew up with Glenna is St. James. I am saddened to hear of her passing, especially that ALS was what put the fire out that was Glenna. She was a formidable athlete and I always respected her for her enthusiasm for sport, her determination and her outstanding ability. Somewhere in time I lost track of Glenna but I just wanted you to know how much I respected and admired her for everything she was and who I aspired to be. Many sympathies to you! - Posted by: Rosemary Robertson (nee Head) (Friend) on: Nov 15, 2025

  • Glenna and I had that "special" bond, she will forever reside in my heart. She leaves me with an emptiness that no one else will ever fill. May our Lord God comfort her family and bring them peace knowing her suffering is over. Love you always dearest "Sis". - Posted by: Marlene Lang (sister in-law) on: Nov 15, 2025
