I have great memories of my oldest sister, from teaching me to sew my doll a dress on our mom's old treadle sewing machine, to crochet, and to knit. When Peggy was born, Mary asked to borrow my doll carriage to use for Peggy. When I started to sew my own clothes, she would want to see the inside of it, if I had made a good job of the seams. I stopped letting her inspect my clothes then, as she always wanted a perfect job. But I'm glad she taught me to be particular, which I appreciated later. When we lived at La Riviere on our farm, Mary & John would stop in often for visits and Mary enjoyed picking Saskatoons. Also I remember the fun we had hunting Easter eggs on our farm during a family gathering with them. - Posted by: Hilda (John) Hildebrand (Sister) on: Nov 29, 2025

Sincere Condolences to Peggy, Francie and the rest of the family. So very sorry for your loss. I have lots of special memories of Aunt Mary and visiting the farm as kids. Loved her laughter and sense of humor. Thinking of you all, Sheila. - Posted by: Sheila (Hildebrand) Worms (Niece) on: Nov 28, 2025

Condolences to Peggy and Francie. I remember my strong, hard working, bare footed auntie who loved to arm wrestle (and win!) against her nephews at the family gathering. - Posted by: Della Jess (Peters) (Niece) on: Nov 27, 2025

Sorry I can’t make it for the memorial. I have many good memories of Mary and John. We spent many hours at their house in Winkler, playing cards and sharing laughs and faspa. My condolences to all of her family, from Betty (John) Dyck. - Posted by: Betty Dyck (Cousin) on: Nov 22, 2025

My condolences to all of the family. Aunt Mary was always a huge presence at the Thiessen gatherings. Her booming voice was always intimidating to all of the kids but was also met with lots of kindness and laughter. I always enjoyed our visits to the farm. She will be missed. Hugs to all. - Posted by: Beverly Thiessen (Niece) on: Nov 19, 2025
