ANNI BALAGUS

(nee JUNG)

October 4, 1954 - November 16, 2025

Anni peacefully passed away at Deer Lodge Centre. She will be forever cherished by her husband of 42 years Deric and their two sons, Brad (Leanne) and Tim (Christyn); as well as her sister Rosie (Barry) and brother Harry (Leslie). Anni is also survived by her five grandchildren, Stella, Audrey, Owen, Emerson and Blaire. She will be remembered by many nieces and nephews.

Anni was born in Winnipeg to German immigrant parents, Herbert and Lilly Jung and was raised in the west end where she graduated from Daniel Mac High School in 1972. Anni worked at CRA at 391 York and later the Winnipeg Taxation Centre. She met her husband Deric while working at CRA and they were married on September 10, 1983. Shortly after had two sons, Brad born in 1985 and Tim born in 1988. After having children Anni became a homemaker taking care of all the household duties and volunteering at the nearby elementary school. Anni was always cooking, crafting and tinkering around the house. Anni and Deric went on several Caribbean cruises with their long-time friends Sam and Joann Shields which she always looked forward to.

Anni spent her final eight years residing at Deer Lodge Centre due to advanced Alzheimer's disease. A special thanks to the current and retired staff at Deer Lodge who provided Anni with excellent care over her many years.
