Jean-Paul Marcoux, born October 1, 1947, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, returned to our Heavenly Father on November 9, 2025.
Jean met the love of his life, Gisele, in 1968. They married on August 15, 1970, and together raised two children, Sheri and Shane. Jean worked as a Division Manager in Human Resources and retired from Manitoba Hydro in 2007.
Jean had a passion for carpentry - whether building birdhouses with his grandchildren or taking on larger projects like the treehouse and the cottage at Rock Lake. He also loved golf prior to his stroke and even convinced Gisele to pick up the sport. In later years, he never missed watching a Jets or Bombers game on TV. Jean had an adventurous spirit and a deep love of travel, always planning the next trip as soon as he finished booking the last. Never letting his wheelchair slow him down, whether he was navigating the cobblestone streets of Italy or accidentally running over a few toes in New York.
Jean was predeceased by his parents, Albertine and Emile Marcoux, and his brother Gilles.
He is survived by his loving wife Gisele; his children Sheri and Shane; grandchildren Kaelah (Sheldon), Jasmine (Jesse), Regan, and Brayden; great-grandchildren Wyatt and Colton; his brother Mitch (Indira); and his sister Gilberte (Noel).
Funeral services will be held November 27, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Mary, Mother of the Church Parish (85 Kirkbridge Drive), with Father JB officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

While managing a budget or two, I had occasion to discuss critical budget issues / concerns with Jean-Paul. Not once did he mind me calling him and not once did he hesitate to "dumb it down" just for me so that I always had access to "the big picture". For this, I had great respect for the man. Jean was a wonderful coworker and friend. He always had a smile and positive attitude which fostered a calm work environment. We enjoyed our discussions about cottage building, the Jets and the Bombers. He was a remarkable man to maintain such a positive attitude after the many tough events that shaped his families lives.
