It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother on November 18, 2025. She passed quietly at Misericordia Place where she has resided the last six years.
Doreen was predeceased by her mother Agnes in 1974, father Fred in 2003, sisters, Martha in 2008, Sylvia in 2024, brothers, Bobby in 1951, Terry in 2025, grandson Justin in 2009, great-grandson Euan in 2007 and niece Jennifer in 2023.
She leaves to mourn her sister Wendy in Kamloops, brother Rick (Karen), daughter Veronica in Vancouver, Curtis in Lethbridge , Richard (Jacqueline), nieces, Angel, Nicole, April, Kimberly, Tracy (Charlie), nephews, Cleo, Richard, Cory, grandchildren Melissa, Matthew (Becky), Michael, Daniel, Ashlee, Joyce, 10 great-grandchildren and at least 17 grand nephews and nieces.
Mom was born in The Pas September 6, 1936, and spent most of her childhood in rural Manitoba. She married her first husband in Winnipeg 1954 and as a military wife raised her three children in France and Canada eventually returning to Winnipeg.
Mom was loving and caring and made friends easily. She was welcoming of all newcomers to the family.
Mom worked a clerical job in retail for many years and in the early 80s returned to school where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Manitoba in 1985.
A Celebration of Life will be held for family and close friends at 2:00 p.m. on December 6, 2025. Interment will be at a later date.
