BRIAN WEISS

June 18, 1948 - November 27, 2025

It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our Dad, Brian Weiss, Thursday, November 27, 2025, at St Boniface Hospital, Winnipeg, MB.

Brian’s amazing storytelling will be treasured in the hearts of his children, Madrece (Ron), Melody (Frank), Melissa (Chris), Meredith, Mark, Michette and Myra (Herman).

Grandpa’s squishy hugs will be cherished forever by his grandchildren, Jasmine, Dustyn, Benjamin, Harmony, Savannah, Logan, Isabella and Ethan.

Brian will be greatly missed by his sister Doris, brother-in-law Albert and sister-in-law Katherine.

Brian was predeceased by his parents, Paul and Alvina, brothers, Clifford and Norman, sister Marge and grandson Barett.

For Brian, La Broquerie was always home. He grew up on the family farm, which was right beside his current residence. One of his first jobs was working at Janz Hatchery, where he met his first wife, Eleanor. For a short time, they lived in Thompson, MB, where he worked in the Nickel Mine. Plans changed so they moved to Steinbach, MB, where their four daughters were born.

He started his businesses Countryside Painting and Any Auto Parts. In between having children they moved to La Broquerie, MB. Plans changed again, he got divorced and met Susan, with whom he had one son and two more daughters. Brian and Susan together started another business, Mark’s Berry Patch. As time moved on, he took a position at Friedensfeld Community Center as a Caretaker.

For the last 10 years he was enjoying retirement to his fullest. Road-tripping to Saskatchewan, visiting British Columbia and venturing to Vancouver Island were highlights because of the breathtaking scenery and all the relatives he could hug along the way. With his love for flowers and gardening came tractor adventures and mishaps. Saturday evenings you could hear the Polka Party throughout the neighborhood. He got a tremendous amount of companionship from his cats. One of the most important things to him was Sunday lunches with his loved ones.

Brian will be immensely missed by everyone.

The funeral service will be held on Friday, December 5, 2025, at 2:00 p.m., at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, MB., with viewing one hour prior.
