Frank Martin Sitar, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 24, 2025, at Health Sciences Centre at the age of 88, after a courageous and long battle with declining health.
Frank was predeceased by his parents; his beloved wife of 55 years Dawn Louise in 2018; and his sister Shirley Frost in 2007.
Frank is survived by his sons, Reid (Janet) and Christopher (Valerie), grandchildren, Lauren, Melodie, Eryn and Rory, by his sister Iris Anderson, and his brother Timothy Sitar.
He adored the many summer weekends spent with his grandkids at his pool over the years and loved all the visits which brought him immense happiness. He found joy in the simple pleasures: casting a line while fishing, tending to his garden, and sharing his great sense of humor with everyone he met. His heart held a special, warm place for animals, particularly his five Labrador retrievers, and he shared that affection for dogs throughout his life. He was a beloved soccer coach to many young players, guiding them both on and off the field.
A successful entrepreneur, he proudly owned and operated his business for over 45 years. Beyond his work he was a passionate, lifelong Toronto Blue Jays fan, following the team faithfully through every season. He was the person you could always turn to for a thoughtful conversation or sound advice. You could bounce any topic or idea off him, knowing you would receive invaluable guidance in return.
His quiet strength, integrity, wisdom, and loving spirit will be profoundly missed by his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
At Frank's request there will be no formal service, a private family entombment took place in Holy Angel Mausoleum in Green Acres Cemetery
The family wishes to express their deep appreciation to the physicians, nurses, and staff of Wards GH6, GH3, WS3, and WS2 at the Health Sciences Centre for their compassionate care.
Love you Dad.
