Wilmer Chornopyski, aged 87, of Winnipeg, MB., passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 23, 2025 at Poseidon Care Centre, Winnipeg, Manitoba.
He is survived by his beloved wife Gail of 61 years and their sons Kerry (Kim), Curtis, and daughter Tracy, as well as sister Doris (Ron) Pidlubny and brother-in-law Earl Falk. Also surviving are grandchildren Jordan and Kennedy Ivanyshyn, Andres (Brooklyn) Vergara, and two great-grandchildren Lakelyn and Mila.
He was predeceased by his parents, brother Edward, and sister Verna.
He was a lifelong member of his church, volunteering and serving on committees in his healthy years.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 13, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, MB., with interment to follow at St. Peter and Paul Church Cemetery, Arbakka, MB.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Wilmer may be made to Rheumatoid Arthritis, Diabetes, or Cancer Care.
Special thanks to his caregivers and to his daughter Tracy for her nursing expertise.
