Peacefully on November 29, 2025, Violet passed away at Kildonan Personal Care Centre in Winipeg.
Violet was predeceased by her parents, John Yascheshyn and Regina (Agnes) Yascheshyn (nee Wozny), her sisters Jean, Kay, Helen and Emily and brothers Frank, Casey and John. She is survived by many nieces and nephews.
Violet was the youngest of eight children and born in Melrose, Manitoba. She worked many years at Seagrams Distilleries in southern Ontario and also worked in the USA for a few years. Upon returning from the USA, Violet worked for the Government of Ontario. Shortly after retiring, she moved to Winnipeg to be closer to family and friends.
She was a lady of vast knowledge who also had strong opinions. She loved to sing and managing her diet was important to her.
Violet will be missed by family and friends.
As requested by Violet, cremation will take place and there will be no formal funeral service.
Violet was grateful for the care which she received from the staff at Kildonan Personal Care Centre.
