JANICE (JAN) ELAINE BORLASE


Peacefully, on November 23, 2025, Janice passed away at the age of 79 years.

Jan leaves to mourn, her son Bryan, Daughter-in-Law Ashley and two grandsons, William and Zachary, her brothers, David (Marilyn) and Phillip (Janet) Lees, as well as numerous Nephews, Nieces, Extended family and friends. Janice was predeceased by her husband of 45 years Bill whom she met in 1971, her Farther William, Mother Hilda, Twin Brother John (Jack) and Nelson.

Janice was Born on January 29, 1946, in Crystal City, Manitoba, Growing up on the family farm in Mather, Manitoba. She graduated from Pilot Mound Collegiate in 1964 and later the Misericordia school of nursing with her RN in Nursing. Jan returned to work as a nurse for a short while after graduating in Crystal city before moving to Winnipeg to work at the Misericordia hospital for the remainder of her career. She was heavily involved in her alumni associated helping with the newsletter as well as other nurses associations.

Janice was an avid sports fan, spending her summers golfing, as well as curling, attending football or hockey games.

In her younger years she made the annual CFL Grey Cup a part of her November travels regardless where in the country it was held. Selling 50/50 tickets at Jets 1.0 games during the WHA years, attending many Manitoba Moose games, she was excited to become part of the Winnipeg Jets season ticket association and enjoyed her game nights with Bill and after his passing Ashley. Blue and Gold were truly her colours that she wore proudly cheering on the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. A season ticket holder for 51 years, first as a single woman on the west side, then moving to the east side, correct side, where her future Husband sat, and then enjoying each game with her son.

A Celebration of Life in her honour will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at the St. Boniface Golf Course.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff of West Park Manor for their compassionate care.
