MARVIN GOODMAN
Marvin (Moe, Red) Goodman, aged 95, passed away on December 5, 2025, at the St. Boniface Hospital, Winnipeg.
He is predeceased by his wife and true love of 65 years, Margaret (Marg) and oldest son, Eric. He is survived by his son Dan (Marie), daughter Elaine (John), sister Ethelyn (Sinclair) and sister-in-law Lois. He will also be deeply missed by his five grandchildren - Shawn (Chrissy), Kerstin (Ryan), Eric (Chrissy), Joshua (Heaven) and Shyla - and his great-grandchildren; Davin, Payton, Quinn, Jordan, Jared, Austin, Logan, Arden and Kayden. Born in Roseau, Minnesota, USA, Marvin grew up on the family farm in Piney, Manitoba. While attending university in Winnipeg, he started working at Canada Packers where he was respectfully known as “Red Goodman” and worked his way up to superintendent. Alongside Marg, he enjoyed raising his three children with yearly family vacations, which later became travel adventures for just the two of them. Marvin led a long and happy life, staying active with hunting, fishing, curling, and golfing. His cheerful demeanour and booming laugh made him many friends during his last two and a half years at Dakota House.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the United Church in Meadowood, 1111 Dakota Street, Winnipeg. Interment in Piney, Manitoba to take place at a later date.
