Peacefully with family by her side, Norma Kehler passed away at the age of 84 on December 4, 2025, at Bethesda Regional Health Centre in Steinbach, MB.
She is survived by her children, Pearl (Hank), Bev (Martin), Tim (Monique), Curtis (Teresa), former daughter-in-law Debbie, her grandchildren, Scott (Sammie), Dustin, Hope, Conner, Jesse, great-grandchildren, Landyn, Jack, and Hunter.
Norma was predeceased by the love of her life, Harry, in May of this year whom she was married to for 66 and a half years! She was also predeceased by friend Dorothy and sister-in-law Helen, and brother Leonard.
Norma was born on a farm, and as a young girl, she had a pet pig. This pig was the start of Norma's lifelong love of animals. She had cats and dogs for almost her entire life.
Norma and Harry owned the Sunset Motel in Steinbach, where they worked and raised their family.
Upon moving to Winnipeg, Norma worked for A&W for nearly 30 years. Norma loved and was proud of her work! According to her, she made the very best onion rings!
Norma and Harry moved back to Steinbach in 1999. She enjoyed her retirement with Harry at the farm. They would ride quads and make trails at the shack! Norma took great pleasure in watching her "soapies"
Norma and Harry also loved watching sports, especially the Jets and Blue Jays. They were true fans!
Norma loved and was also very proud of each of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. "OH my, they are growing up so fast," she would say.
You are now reunited with the love of your life! You will be missed but not forgotten!
Rest in Paradise!
The funeral will be held at Crossings Funeral Care on Sunday, December 14, 2025, at 2:00 p.m.
The family would like to thank all staff at Resthaven Personal Care Home for their kindness and compassionate care for Norma this past year!
