It is with deep sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Beryl Arlene Hinds (Coulter.) Beryl passed away peacefully at the Grace Hospital on December 4, 2025, at the age of 89.

Beryl Was born August 17, 1936, in Truro Colchester County, Nova Scotia. Beryl was predeceased by her husband Don Hinds, her mother Jo Coulter, mother and father-in- law Hermine and George Hinds, her sisters, Audrey Dewar and Anne Coulter and brothers and sisters-in-law Reid and Diane Hinds and Beverly and Donald Mackey.

Beryl is survived by her two sons, Rick, Dave (Diane), her two daughters, Cathy Couper (Rob), Karen Ellchuk (Trevor), seven Grandchildren, Allison (Brennan), Bryon, Kyle, Carlee, Brendan, Tyler and Mathew, four great-grandchildren, Hailey, Chantel, Violet and Rosie and many nephews, nieces and cousins. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her, especially her loving family.

Beryl and Don were married on October 21, 1958, and would have celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary on October 21, 2025.

Her hobbies included bowling, playing cards, baking, knitting and reading. She also enjoyed watching the Winnipeg Blue Bombers (40-year season ticket holder) the Winnipeg Jets, curling and socializing with family and friends.

Her greatest joy over the last few years was to attend the many entertaining shows organized by the Metropolitan Kiwanis Courts staff. Her favorite entertainers by far were the Apostles. We would like to thank Sheila Hunter, Laverne, all the staff at Kawanis Courts and the home care personnel for their ongoing assistance and care. We would also like to thank the staff at the Grace General Hospital for the ongoing and generous care given to Beryl.

A private viewing will take place and a service in celebration of her life will be held at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home and Cemetery, 4000 Portage Ave. on December 15, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. All are welcome.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, Grace Hospital or a charity of your choice.
