Georgina Mae Lowen
Georgina peacefully passed away on Friday, December 5, 2025, at the Health Sciences Centre.
She is predeceased by her father, Herb; her mother, Vera; and her sister, Lesley (Donald). She will be deeply missed by her son, Curtiss (Roxanne); her nephew, Brent; her niece, Michelle (Jason); and her great-kids, Kaylen and Julia.
While she spent most of her life in Winnipeg and worked much of it at MTS, Georgina’s passions were what truly defined her. She loved dogs, traveling, burgers, live music, but none were greater than her love of dancing. It was rare for her to let a Saturday pass without going to a dance. The only thing that could deter her was her other true love: spending as much time as possible with her family, friends, and neighbours, all of whom will miss her calls, visits, and restaurant outings.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society.

Georgie was my friend and neighbour from Glenlawn in St. Vital. We also both went to Glenlawn Collegiate and had many of the same friends at school. Georgie was funny, intelligent, vivacious. She always had something to say and her laugh was infectious. Georgie was also my wife Valerie’s cousin and she introduced me to Valerie at a canoe club dance. We had many good times in Winnipeg and when we returned on trips from Ottawa. We both loved Georgie and will miss her greatly. Take care family - you lost a good one. - Posted by: Garry McDougall (FRIEND) on: Dec 31, 2025

I knew Georgie through her sister Lesley who was my dear friend. We all grew up on Glenlawn and I spent many hours at the Fraser household over the years. I remember Georgie being outgoing, animated and very chatty. You always knew where you stood with her and she “told it like it was”. Her love of dancing always made me smile. She could cut a rug with the best of them! Rest in peace Georgie and condolences to her family and friends. - Posted by: Eleanore Verplaetse (Friend) on: Dec 19, 2025

Georgina and I met at a Halloween West Coast Swing dance, back when I barely knew two or three dance steps to put together. We had such a blast and were great friends from that point on. I have so many memories of great conversation, burger runs together, laughter, and of course so much dancing! She especially liked a swing dance move she called "slither arms". Her kindness and joy made Winnipeg so much better, I miss her very much. - Posted by: Trent Coroy (Friend) on: Dec 17, 2025

Georgina was a friend for many years. One of the things I admired about Georgina was her ability to bring people together in friendship. We enjoyed many adventures and breakfasts over the years. I will miss these occasions and her sense of humour. Rest in peace, Georgina - Posted by: Lenna Glade (Friend) on: Dec 16, 2025
