ARTHUR WILSON
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Arthur Douglas Wilson.
Arthur was born on March 20, 1937 on the family farm, east of Rapid City, Manitoba. There he learned the values of hard work and resilience, qualities that shaped his life.
In 1959, Arthur met and married the love of his life Marjorie, beginning a beautiful partnership of 66 years. Together, they settled in Brandon, raising four children, Barb, Doug (Linda), Louise (George) and Don, welcoming five grandchildren, Matt, Emma (Grant), Abby (Noah), Jonas and Asher and celebrating the arrival of two great-grandchildren, Ellie and Scottie.
Arthur spent 39 years with Manitoba Hydro as a charge engineer, retiring in 1996. His work was a source of pride and he was known for his steady leadership and dedication.
Retirement brought numerous adventures. Cherished time at the family cabin, travels around the world, and taking up golf at 73. He loved wood working in his shop, where many projects were crafted with care for those he loved. Above all, Arthur's greatest joy was his family. He treasured big family barbeques, time with his grandchildren and long convertible rides with Marjie by his side.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the many friends, neighbours and extended family who supported and cared for Arthur thoughout his life. Special thanks to the staff of BRHC 500 and A300 for their kindness and care during his last days.
