Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryALISTAIR CHARLES JEFFREY
It is with sadness that we announce Alastair's passing on Monday, December 2, 2025, at the age of 93. Alastair was predeceased in 2011 by his beloved wife of 56 years, Shirley Jeffrey (née Jephson), and by his parents, Frank and Hilda (née Holmgren) Jeffrey.
He will be deeply missed by his children, Heather and Uwe Jansen, and Kevin and Dianne Jeffrey; his grandchildren, Marina and Dallas Jansen and Tyson and Kyla Jeffrey; and his sister, Sheilagh Bailey (née Jeffrey). Alastair was born in Pinawa, Manitoba, on September 21, 1932.
When asked to describe Jeff, the same themes would always emerge: kind, polite, trustworthy, compassionate, generous, and devoted to family. Jeff enjoyed socializing with good friends and he and Shirley shared countless good times with their many close friends, maintaining friendships that spanned more than 50 years. Jeff's career with Manitoba Hydro spanned over 40 years, where he earned the respect and admiration of his colleagues for his dedication and integrity. Shirley and Jeff lived in St. Vital for most of their adult lives. Their Lee River cottage was a treasured retreat for more than 40 years - enjoyed by four generations of family and many dear friends. In later years, Jeff and Shirley spent their winters at their home in Pharr, Texas, where they enjoyed sunshine, laughter, and lasting friendships, both old and new.
There will not be a public service. In lieu of flowers, friends are invited to make a donation in Jeff's memory to the Alzheimer’s society or a charity of their choice.
