It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Emmy Obenauer, nee Wilde, at the age of 94. Emmy was born on April 8, 1931, in Krugany, Poland, and spent her later years residing in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She passed away peacefully on December 22, 2025, at 7:45 p.m.
Emmy was predeceased by her beloved husband, Henry Obenauer. She was a devoted mother to Gary Obenauer, a cherished grandmother to Candice Hickson (Ian), Jon Obenauer, and Tim Obenauer (Stacey), and a proud great-grandmother to Emi Hickson, Odin Carlson, Judilyn Obenauer, and Declan Obenauer.
Known for her loving and nurturing spirit, Emmy was the heart of her family—a dedicated caretaker who always put others first. Her warmth and kindness will be remembered by all who knew her.
A private family service will be held to honour Emmy’s life.
