SUZANNE (SUE) OATES

Suzanne (Sue) Oates, 71, passed away on December 22, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer.

A beloved mother and Nanna, she was known for her kindness, compassion, quirky sense of humour, and intelligence. She held her family close to her heart, especially her daughter, Allyson (Jeff), and granddaughter, Peyton.

Sue devoted her career to public service in the federal government’s financial sector and found joy in music, singing, and travel.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on January 16, 2026, at 603 Wellington Crescent. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Humane Society.

She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.

  • On behalf of Margaret's Choir I wish to offer condolences to Sue's family at her passing. The choir is very grateful for her contribution to our singing and administrative success over more than 10 years. She sang with a lovely soprano voice. She participated with commitment humor and extremely high intelligence in the administrative group that guided the choir, and only left when poor health prevented her participating any further. We all miss her very greatly. Thank you Sue, and rest in comfort. We know you will be listening for us. - Posted by: Leonard Greenwood (Co-member of Margaret's Choir) on: Jan 10, 2026

  • Ally, I only met your mom once but she left an indelible mark on me because I could tell immediately how warm and wonderful she was and I could see the close relationship you had with her. I'm so sorry for the pain right now but I know her love and memories will sustain you. - Posted by: Karla King (Ally's friend) on: Jan 10, 2026
