Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryKATHLEEN NASTIUK
Peacefully, on November 27, 2025, our beloved Mom and Baba, Kathleen (Kay) Nastiuk passed away at the age of 94 years old. She was predeceased by her husband William in 2007. She is survived by her daughters, Marilyn (Paul) and Teresa (Brian) and her seven grandchildren: David, Eric, Kristen, Janie, Stefanie, Nicholas and Sara, her 11 great-grandchildren, and her siblings, Shirley, Erwin and Bobby Dean. Also left to mourn is niece Lori Marquette, who visited her Aunty Kay often and brought her favourite foods.
She will be remembered for her perogies, cabbage rolls, and jars of homemade strawberry jam and borscht. Baba and Gido’s pantry was always stocked with beets, pickles and beans, always ready for any family meal, thanks to the large vegetable gardens they would tend together. Baba was a gifted seamstress. She spent many hours in her sewing room, hemming pants, doing alterations, and making clothing items for Halloween costumes for her grandchildren.
As the years went by and her mobility slowed, her mind remained sharp and engaged. Her final years were spent at Holy Family, where she enjoyed family visits, playing Bingo and going to the weekly entertainment.
She was always eager to hear what was new in everyone’s lives, and was just as happy to share stories from the farm or from the days when she was raising a young family. Her memory was strong and her one-liners kept us laughing right up to the end.
Cremation has taken place and there will be no formal service. A private family Celebration of Life will be planned in the summer.
A special thank you to the staff at Holy Family, 2C St. Francis unit for the care and compassion shown to our mother for the past six years.
Baba’s life was full and she was well loved. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all those who knew and loved her. “All Baba love.”
