LUCIE PIMENTEL

(née DIDOMENICANTONIO)

Lucie Pimentel peacefully passed away on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at the age of 66, surrounded by friends and family by her side.

Lucie will be deeply missed by her devoted husband of 47 years, Fernando; her children, Amanda (Dwayne), Adam (Kirk), and Alexander (Karen); and most importantly, her cherished grandchildren, Isaac, Isabella, and Xavier.

Also left to mourn her loss is her sister, Diana (Joe); her brother, Robert (Di); numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, extended family, and many treasured friendships.

Lucie was predeceased by her parents, Elio and Berarda Didomenicantonio, and her sister-in-law, Kathy Didomenicantonio.

Lucie was born on October 26, 1959, in San Giorgio, Teramo, Italy. At the age of seven, she immigrated to Canada with her parents, older sister, and brother, settling in Winnipeg.

By the age of 16, Lucie had begun her career as a hairdresser, a profession she continued to love and dedicate herself to for over 40 years. With her quiet strength and warmth, her clients quickly became much more than clients — they became deep, loyal friendships that she carried throughout her life.

She opened her first salon, Locks and Curls, in 1982, and later her second, 2Create Hair Studio, alongside her dear friend Gail. Her work was an ingrained and meaningful part of her life, and she truly loved what she did.

Above all else, Lucie’s greatest love was her family. Time with her hubby, children and especially her grandchildren was never enough. She had a deep love for family dinners — moments that brought everyone together around the table, filled with conversation, laughter, and connection. She also deeply cherished her time at the family cabin in Hillside Beach — a special place that became the meeting ground for fun, laughter, and memories, always surrounded by her husband, family, and friends.

The void of her presence will be deeply and forever felt.

On January 27, 2024, Lucie was the fortunate recipient of a double lung transplant. Our family remains eternally grateful for this extraordinary gift, and we encourage everyone to consider the life-saving impact of organ donation.

We extend many heartfelt thanks to her doctors, nurses, and incredible support staff, especially the teams at GH6 and the Transplant Clinic of Manitoba — and a very special thank you to Jody for the exceptional care, compassion, and support shown to Lucie and our family throughout her journey.

Lucie was a force. Her presence was strong, loving, and unforgettable. She will be so greatly missed.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at Holy Rosary Catholic Parish. 510 River Ave. Condolences will begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 11am . Interment and reception will follow at Thomson “In the Park”.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation.
