It is with deep sorrow and a heavy heart, I announce the peaceful passing by of my beloved husband, Rick, in the early morning hours of January 22, 2026, at Riverview Health Centre, after fighting bravely through many health struggles.
Predeceased by his parents, George and Dorothy St. Pierre and his brothers, Michael, Chris, and John. Lovingly remembered by his wife of 42 years, Monika; sisters, Jeanette Traynor, Helen Peterson, and brother Don (Carol), and their families; sisters-in-law, Gabi, Sheila and Angie, and their families, Angela, Amanda (Jeff), Eva (Paul), and their families.
Rick was an avid Montreal Canadiens and Jets fan and he cheered enthusiastically for both. For many years he played in old-timer leagues.
Rick worked at the Winnipeg Convention Centre from its inception in 1975 to 1990 as Assistant Convention Services Manager, and then retired in 2012 after working at HSC as a Health Care Aide. Rick loved all animals, especially dogs, nature, camping, long walks and running. As per his wishes, no formal service was held, but a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date for family and friends.
Heartfelt thanks to Seven Oaks PD Unit and Riverview Health Centre 3 East for their compassionate care.
