LANCE SMITH

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Lance Smith at the age of 79. Lance passed away with his family by his side on December 21, 2025.

Lance was born on April 15, 1946 in Winnipeg. He worked at CN Railway for 35 years. In his retirement, Lance enjoyed curling, the winding open roads on his motorcycle. Together with Diane they travelled every province and every state, something he dreamed of doing. Then his love for his Thunderbird continued his adventurous spirit. Lance’s generosity, kindness and love for his family will forever be remembered.

Lance is survived by his heartbroken soulmate Diane; children and grandchildren, Wesley, Kerri (Dayton and Davis), Sheryl (Aden and Rorie); nephews, Kyle (Brian), Kory (Charlene); brothers, Bryan (Marlene), Dave (Darlene) and their families. Predeceased by his parents, Robert and Mavis; in-laws, Bill and Jean; sister and brother in-law, Betty (Dave); nephews, Kevin and Kirk.

The family would like to thank all the wonderful nurses and doctors at St. Boniface Hospital Palliative Care for their utmost compassion and kindness during his stay. Thank you to all the staff at Prime Program at Misericordia Health Centre. He fought a tough fight, he kept the faith.

Cremation has taken place. No service according to his wishes.

Lance, “You Will Forever Be My Always”.

All my love, Diane.

The Sun Has Set.
