Peter John Stewart-Hay passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness at Dearness Care Centre in London, Ontario, on February 3, 2026.
He is survived by his three daughters, Kristin, Erica, and Jocelyn; his sister, Joan and their families. Peter grew up in Fort Garry, Winnipeg, where he was a long-time resident before relocating to Toronto and London, Ontario. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Manitoba in 1968. Peter spent his entire career in Engineering, serving as Director of Advanced Technologies at Canada Wire and Cable from 1968 to 1994. Later, he started his own consulting firm, Stewart-Hay Associates, consulting privately with international companies. Peter had a strong interest in mechanical pursuits, particularly airplanes, airshows, and cars.
In accordance with his wishes, no service will be held.
