It is with great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Edris Sylvia Daley (Nicholson) on February 4, 2026, at the age of 92.
Edris was predeceased by her parents, husband Elleston and sister Iris Mendez. She is survived by her son Devon (Diane), grandchildren Kasarah (Jonathan), Teneal (Joey), Caiden, and great-grandchildren Élodie, Eli and Traeden. As well as many nieces, nephews.
Edris was born in St. Catherine, Jamaica. She later immigrated to Birmingham, England to marry the love of her life and they immigrated to Canada in 1967. She had a lengthy career at St. Boniface Hospital in housekeeping. Edris was a woman of strong faith and prayer. She loved her church, family, friends and entertaining and always made sure that when you left her home you were full!
Her funeral will be held at Calvary Temple in the Buntain Chapel (440 Hargrave St.) on Friday, February 27, 2026. The service will be held at 11:00 a.m. with a viewing 1 hour prior. Interment to follow at the Transcona Cemetery (5014 Dugald Road).
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of your choice.
