LORRAINE DENT-PRYCHUN

(nee DURAND)

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Lorraine Dent-Prychun (née Durand), wife, mother, sister, nurse, and friend. Lorraine passed away peacefully on February 13, 2026, at the River Park Gardens Personal Care Home, surrounded by loved ones.

Lorraine leaves behind her three children, Ashley (Laura), Eric (Jenn), and Dustin (Amanda); as well as her partner Brian. She also leaves behind five beloved grandchildren, Olivia, Landon, Aureyanna, Abigail, and Emerson. Lorraine is lovingly remembered by her brother Rick (Karen); sister Sharon (Harold); along with extended family and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Marg and Leo Durand.

Lorraine devoted her professional life to nursing – she completed her Bachelor of Nursing in 1974 and later shared her passion as an instructor at the Grace Hospital, followed by many roles that took her throughout Manitoba. In the later part of her career, she managed all personal care homes in the Interlake-Eastern Health Region, leaving a legacy in her community, with facilities such as Kin Place Personal Care Home in Oakbank.

Lorraine embraced life fully. She loved to dance, was a global traveler, and avid gardener. In her retirement years, Lorraine continued to make connections with people as she operated a bed and breakfast out of her home.

In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to honour her memory by spending time outdoors, tending a garden, dancing to your favourite song, or extending kindness to someone in need – gestures that would have meant so much to her.

A special thank you to the staff at River Park Gardens Personal Care Home for providing support to Lorraine over the course of her final months.

She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
