LUCILLE PERRIN

(nee VINCENT)

December 30, 1943 - February 5, 2026

On Thursday, February 5, 2026, Lucille Perrin (née Vincent) passed away suddenly, but peacefully, in the comfort of her home. There are no words to describe how profound this loss is. There will be no more weekly visits or phone calls, happy hours, shopping for deals and stories shared. Simply put, we did not have enough time with her.

She is survived by her three sons: Don (Donna), Hubert (Lise), Marty (Cathie); seven grandchildren: Justin (Samantha), Madelyn, Julien, Patrick, Josée (Brady), Isabelle (Seth) and Zachary (Amber); two great-grandchildren, Tylor and Jena. Lucille also leaves behind to mourn her three sisters and two brothers: Rhea (Jude), Louise (Henri), Jeannine (Rosaire), Philip (Helene) and Claude (Louise) as well as a large community of in-laws, nieces and nephews, and friends who will remember her fondly.

Lucille was predeceased by her loving husband of 54 years, Denis, her parents Louis (Capitaine) and Léona Vincent, and her sisters Pierette Moreau, Reynalde Nault and Annette Hupé.

Born on December 30, 1943, in Ste Anne, Manitoba, Lucille was the fifth of nine children and grew up close with her siblings, relationships she treasured until the day she passed. Lucille worked many jobs: running the canteen at the Ste Anne curling where Denis was an icemaker; at Oakwood Golf Course which was a truly special place for her; and even as a homecare aid, further proof that she always took care of others. But her longest job was working in shipping and receiving at Raber Gloves until she retired to become a full-time grandmother. This job proved to be the one she was best at, and she will always be remembered as the ultimate mémère, doing anything for her grandchildren.

She met the love of her life, Denis, in July 1960 and they married on August 18, 1962. Lucille and Denis went on to build a beautiful life and a welcoming home that was always full of family and friends visiting around the kitchen table. Lucille was the greatest host. She was always ready for anyone to stop by for a visit and quickly offering food usually including items from recipes she was known for – dips, homemade soups, sandwiches, baked beans and galette. Rarely did you leave her house without something - tomatoes from the greenhouse, cucumbers, her canning, and countless baked goods. Happy hour at the house on Centrale was known to all in the community, truly a gathering place, and Lucille always had her door open to anyone. These visits will be missed by many.

Lucille was exceptional in many ways. Yes, it must be said again that she baked and cooked for everyone she knew, and the family takes comfort in knowing she did this, what she loved, right up until the end. But Lucille was mostly known for how dedicated she was to her family. She made it to every sports game for her children and grandchildren, she would drop anything to give the kids a ride, and she always looked forward to her Smitty’s wing nights or Grand Forks trips with her siblings. She also possessed an incredible memory of dates and all those in her life could expect a call on their special day. She’d even be ready to discuss scores of all the sports she followed – particularly her Toronto Blue Jays. She had a way of always looking so beautiful, always ensuring she had on a fresh coat of lipstick and excited to show off her new fancy glasses. Everything about who she was remains a sweet memory for all those she leaves behind.

The family will forever be thankful for how dedicated she was to them. Every time they see a Danielle Steele book, smell fresh baking or see anything in the colour orange, they will remember her and how lucky they were to have her as mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Mom, we will raise a shot of Fireball in your honour! You took such great care of us – now you can go take care of Pépère once again. We love you!

Our family would like to express how grateful we are for her good friend and neighbour, Georgette, for having been there for our mom and for us during this very difficult time of her passing. We would also like to thank Lucille’s doctors and home care aids for their great care of her and for their visits in the last 18 months.

Service details are pending.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Lucille’s name to Fonds Hôpital Ste-Anne Hospital Fund Inc., 52 St. Gérard St, Ste-Anne MB R5H 1C4 or CancerCare Manitoba Foundation 1160-675 McDermot Ave, Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9.
