I first met Reen at Brandon University in the late '70's. He and his friends had a penchant for playing Monty Python records really loud and late. I would have to leave my room in Darrach Hall and walk 5 feet to bang on their door. I was trying to study of course. Over time we became good friends and part of a much larger group of nefarious characters. We shared a love of music, mostly Springsteen and Pink Floyd. We both wrote for the university paper. Reen even made up to Flin Flon after I convinced him he could make more cash in the smelter than he could at the Brandon putt-a-round. But after 2 hilarious, action filled years I moved away to further (get) my education. At first we kept in touch, but then life happened and we lost touch. Then, for some reason I reached out to him in December and he filled me in on his illness. Then he was gone. You're at the River now buddy. - Posted by: Patrick S Liss (Old buddy) on: Mar 16, 2026
