It is with deep sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of Marjory Lynn Legary-Gunia, a woman whose open heart and spirit will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
Marj passed away on February 17, 2026 after living with challenging health issues over the past few years.
She is deeply missed by her devoted husband of over 40 years, Barry Gunia; her beloved daughter Courtney Larae Peppard (Clayton); her much-treasured grandsons, Hunter and Ryder; sister-in-law Debbie and niece Brittany (Ryan and sons); and step-daughter Candice and her family. Marj is also survived by her many loving siblings, twin sister Marlene; sisters, Janice (Arthur), Edrie (Andy), Nancy (Steve), Lorna (Lionel) and brother Harvey (Tara); as well as her nieces and nephews.
Born in the small town of Pilot Mound, Manitoba to beloved late parents, Ian and Gladys Legary, Marj carried the warmth of her roots with her throughout her life. A talented hairstylist, Marj spent over 40 years making people feel beautiful. Behind the chair, she had a gift for not just making someone look their best, but to feel that they were cared for. Her eye for personal style was a constant thread running throughout her life. She brought that flair to the residents at several seniors' homes in Winnipeg and her welcome presence invariably raised the spirits of her clientele.
In accordance with Marj's wishes, a memorial service will be held at a later date.
