Dennis Demetrioff passed away peacefully in Victoria on February 22, 2026, at the age of 83.
Born in 1943, Dennis was the third child of George and Doris Demetrioff. He was raised in St. Boniface, surrounded by a large and loving circle of aunts, uncles, cousins, and lifelong friends. He graduated from Nelson McIntyre Collegiate and went on to attain his accounting designation, beginning a long and respected career in the field.
Dennis worked with the former Investor's Syndicate before joining Canadian Pacific Hotels. His career took him to Brandon, Regina, and ultimately to Victoria, where he made his home for the past 46 years. After his years in the hotel industry, Dennis continued his accounting career with several small firms, where he formed many lasting friendships and remained dedicated to his profession.
Above all, Dennis was devoted to his family. He was stubborn, playful, and unapologetically himself. Somehow, in his own quiet and unusual way, he became a steady presence and a deeply important part of many lives. He found great enjoyment in fishing and spending time outdoors, appreciating the quiet and simplicity of nature.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Jeaninne (nee Vien), and his sister Tania. Dennis is lovingly remembered by his sons, Chris (Julie) and Ryan, by his cherished grandchildren, Alice and Will, and his brothers, Gerry and Tim (Heather).
At Dennis' request, no funeral service will be held. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to a charity of your choice in his memory.
