ALLEN RICHARD BELL
It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Allen Richard Bell, aged 85. Allen peacefully passed away on February 17, 2026 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, surrounded by his family. Born in Winnipeg on December 21, 1940, Allen lived a life marked by dedication to his family and friends.
Allen is survived by his loving wife and best friend of over 60 years, Linette; his sons, Jeff (Colleen) and Colin; his grandchildren, Aila and Jackson (mother, Veronica); his sister Lorraine (Mark Weisdorf, nieces, Lisa and Kayla); his brother Wayne (nephew Cameron and Mike); his sister-in-law Birgitta (niece and nephew Camille and Rich); his nieces, Melissa and Alicia (mother, Caroline); and his cousin Joan Woods. He was predeceased by his parents, Harry Allen and Hilda Isabella Bell (Law); his youngest brother Ralph; lifelong friend Wayne Zaharia (Mary); and close friend Henry Schritt (Connie).
A graduate of Sisler High School, Allen excelled as the Sales Manager at CAE/Canadian Bronze, where he was respected for his leadership. He proudly participated in Canadian Army Militia Training when called upon. His strong moral code set the foundation for his approach to both his professional and personal life.
Allen was an intellectually curious and caring man of many interests. He loved spending cherished moments with his family, friends and especially his precious grandchildren. He enjoyed engaging in crosswords and puzzles, travelling, and indulging in his passion for scale kit modelling. Allen also loved history, most British television (Corrie was a favorite) and was proud of his Scottish roots. He was a lover of animals and was lucky to have many wonderful pets in his life including his beloved German Shepherd, Saxon and cats. Miss Kitty, Jenny and Kaylee. His sharp, inquisitive nature and deep love for his family and his close friends were evident in every aspect of his life.
In keeping with Allen's wishes, a small private gathering to celebrate his life will be held in the summer and he will be laid to rest at Brookside Cemetery amidst family.
