It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, Bev Krawchuk, at the age of 88.
Bev was predeceased by her devoted husband of 57 years, Gerry, as well as her parents and many cherished family members and friends. She leaves behind her children, Kelly (Tara) and Tracy (Guy); her grandchildren, Morgan (Dom) and Blake; sister-in-law Joan and family; cousins; and many dear friends.
Bev grew up in Elmwood, where her spirited personality quickly began to shine. She explored her creativity early on, dabbling in the violin and taking the bus downtown to shop with her auntie - simple outings she cherished. During her high school years, she excelled in track and field, proudly holding the provincial record for the 50-yard hurdles, a feat she remembered fondly. Bev loved taking the moonlight train to Grand Beach on weekends and worked several jobs throughout her young adult life, always embracing each new experience with energy and enthusiasm.
Her love story with Gerry began at a lively dance hall, where one spark turned into a lifetime of love. Together they built a warm, welcoming home and filled their lives with music - accordion playing, singalongs, dancing, and joyful gatherings with family and cousins. They proudly supported the Khartum Shriners, The Masonic Lodge, and Jesters, and their garage became a legendary spot for neighbourhood get togethers.
Bev loved tending to her many flowers, relaxing by the pool, and visiting with neighbors on the front step. After moving to ‘The Lux’ in 2022, she embraced new friendships, never missing a get-together and quickly becoming known for her devilled eggs.
She never missed a curling game or a chance to cheer on the Bombers, Jets, or Blue Jays, especially with Kelly. She proudly continued my dad’s legacy as a 62-year season ticket holder for the Bombers.
Family was everything to Bev. She treasured Sunday dinners, holidays, and every moment spent celebrating Morgan and Blake’s achievements.
We find comfort knowing she and Dad are together again. Her strength, warmth, and love will stay with us always.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at Selkirk General Hospital Medicine 1 and 2 for their exemplary care and compassion for our mom and our entire family.
Due to covid restraints back in 2021 and in keeping with our mom’s wishes, a come and go Celebration of Life will be held for both Bev and Gerry from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, March 6, 2026 at Rossmere Golf and Country Club 925 Watt Street., with a brief program of remembrance taking place at 5:00 p.m.

The Krawchuck family lived across the street from our family on McFarlane for over 20 years. I knew both Gerry and his older brother Eugene. In fact, as a student, I worked for Mr. Krawchuck during the summer of 1961 & 62, along with Eugene, fogging mosquitoes. Eugene and my brother Walter were pals. I offer my deepest condolences to the family. - Posted by: stan kuzak (friend 7 neighbour of Krawchuck family) on: Mar 01, 2026

When Gerry K and I, Jerry J would be at an event together we always talked about music and bar hopping in Palm Springs together and a lot of good laughs and of course happy hours together at the pool In Palm Springs. Gerry K and I Jerry Jeffrey would always get a fabulous tan but Jerry K some how got a black brown tan. Ann we met her at lots of parties of Lois and Bobs had lots of great drinks together too went shopping in Palm Springs then soon pool and happy hour here we came and her love of her life Jerry always made sure she had a full glass they were both very happy together and made everyone laugh, and at a bar in Palm Springs we were none of the six pack at a bar called Woodys. - Posted by: Gerry and Shirley Jeffrey (Great friend) on: Feb 28, 2026
