ALEXANDRA GEORGINA MASON

September 21, 2004 - February 21, 2026

In loving memory of Alexandra Mason. Our hearts are shattered as we try to understand a world without our beautiful Alexandra. She was a daughter, sister, niece, cousin, and friend whose presence changed every life she touched. Alexandra’s passions were family, her love of swimming and coaching synchronized swimming and working with kids of all ages.

She leaves behind her parents, Patricia (Trish) Richardson Mason and Mike Mason and her sister Abigail (Abi) Mason.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund through the Winnipeg Foundation has been created to honour Alexandra’s memory and her love for helping people and for the sport that shaped her life.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 14 at 2:00 p.m. at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. in Winnipeg.

  • Dear Trish, Mike and Abi, I was so deeply saddened to hear of Alexandra’s passing. During the time Alexandra attended Ecole Van Belleghem, she left a lasting impression on those around her. She was kind beyond her years, compassionate, gentle, and thoughtful in the way she treated others. She possessed a quiet strength and warmth that made her truly special. Alexandra was also a talented and beautiful young person, both inside and out, and it was truly a pleasure to know her. Please know that she is remembered with great fondness. My thoughts are with you as you grieve such a profound loss. May the love you shared and the memories you hold bring you comfort in the days ahead. I regret that I will not be able to attend Alexandra’s memorial service on Saturday, as we will be away. Please know that I will be thinking of you and your family, and holding you all in my thoughts during this difficult time and over the days and months ahead. Please accept my heartfelt condolences. • Patricia and family, Jan and I are heartbroken to learn that Alex's health challenge did not have a happier resolution. Please accept our most heartfelt condolences on Alex's passing, knowing your daughter, in her short life, left such a fine impression on so many around her. God Bless. - Posted by: Darrell and Janice Kinley (Cousin) on: Mar 10, 2026

  • Alex was truly an angel on earth. She coached my daughter’s team this year and was just an amazing person and coach. She taught the girls from day 1 what it meant to be a team. It meant kindness, and friendship first! She made sure each team member knew how special they were. I had a few chats with her about health and it amazed me how resilient and brave she was. She was always most concerned with everyone else always. Her family should feel so proud as you truly had an amazing daughter who left such a meaningful impression to everyone she graced. Sending all my love to Alex’s mom and dad and sister. I’ve never met you but know how much Alex loved you all. Her legacy will always be in team Alex’s heart and they will continue the routine she put together and honour her forever both in the pool and out. - Posted by: Shannon Naldrett (Friend) on: Mar 07, 2026
