It is with deep sadness that the family announces the passing of our mother and Oma, Renate Kloos on March 6, 2026 at the age of 95.
Born in Bavaria, Germany, she grew up in very difficult times. She met and married Karl Kloos who was born in Romania. They immigrated to Canada in 1956, settling in Winnipeg. Over the years and through hard work and determination, they established a successful life, raising five children.
She was predeceased by her husband Karl in 2017 and her son Otto in 2021. Oma is survived by her children Christa (Tom), Walter (Trish), Peter (Tracy), and Mike. She is also survived by her nine grandchildren, William (Meghan), Andrew (Marla), Michael (Jill), Jennifer (Lance), Chrissie (Kris), Stephie (Rob), Cory (Priscilla), Alana (Matt), Megan (Sam), and many great-grandchildren.
In their earlier years, Oma and Opa established and operated a successful tree nursery in St. Norbert, Winnipeg. Oma was a talented baker and needlepoint artist whose works will be cherished in the homes of her children and grandchildren.
A private family gathering will take place in the summer.
Oma will forever be missed and loved.
