ROBERTA (BOBBY) FRANKLIN

April 6, 1937 - March 10, 2026

It is with deep sadness that the family announces the peaceful passing of Roberta (Bobby) Franklin on Tuesday, March 10, 2026.

Roberta will be fondly remembered by her husband of 68 years, Stephen; her children, Teresa (Ken), Ken (Cindy), and Lisa (Mike); her grandchildren, Tasha (Chris), Kadie (Mat), Darrell, Taylor (Alanna), Ryder, and Chase; and her great-grandchildren, Preston and Madelyn. She also leaves behind her sisters, Isabelle Kelly and Dolores Hawkins, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and good friends.

She was predeceased by her parents, Robert and Harriet Squires; her sister, Doreen Catton; and waiting for her in Heaven is her beloved son Gregory Franklin.

Roberta was raised in Fort Rouge and, following her marriage to Stephen in 1957, settled in Oak Bluff where they raised their four children. She was active in her community, balancing gardening, canning, baking, and participating in the Oak Bluff Ladies baseball team with her full-time employment at Grand & Toy in Winnipeg. Roberta was known for her sense of humour and warm hospitality, often welcoming guests to enjoy a game of Bocce Ball or backyard bonfires. In retirement, she continued her involvement as President of the Uptown Ladies Bowling League.

A devoted member of the Catholic faith, Roberta valued attending mass every Saturday and singing hymns.

The family extends their heartfelt appreciation to the staff of The Saul & Claribel Simkin Centre, Weinberg 1, for their compassionate and dignified care.

A Funeral Service will take place on Friday, April 17, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Mary Mother of the Church Parish, 85 Kirkbridge Drive, Winnipeg, MB. A reception will follow the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Saul & Claribel Simkin Centre.

Cremation has taken place. Private interment to follow reception.
