Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryRICHARD HERBERT SWAN
Richard was a strong and silent man, a man of very few words whose actions spoke louder than anything he could say. He was known for his quiet strength, steady presence, and deep love for his family.
Those who knew him understood that his care and devotion were shown not through many words, but through the life he lived and the things he did for those around him.
He loved spending time at the lake and enjoyed the simple pleasure of puttering around his yard, always keeping busy and taking pride in his surroundings. These peaceful moments were where he was most content.
Richard is survived by his beloved wife, Pat; his daughter Kim; and his stepdaughters, Leona (Manny), and Patti (Ray), and stepson Mike. He was also a proud grandfather to Ray, Damon, Ty, Tory, Nathan, Mary, Mikey, Kadie, Nicholas and Jordin who will remember him with love.
He was predeceased by his daughter, Lisa, whose memory remained close to his heart.
He is survived by his sisters, Dolores, Liz (Brad) and Julie (Victor) and brothers, Ken and Jack (Kellie) and many nieces and nephews.
Richard will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew him. His quiet strength, steady presence, and love for the simple things in life will be remembered.
The family would like to thank the incredible staff at Misrecordia and St Boniface Hospitals. Their care and compassion was greatly appreciated.
Per his wishes, there will be no funeral or Celebration of Life.

I’m really sorry to hear about Rick. Even though we went our separate ways over the years, I’ll always remember how much I cared about him and what an all around great person he was. I am thinking of all of you during this painful time. Sending love and hoping you can find some comfort in the memories and love you shared with him. - Posted by: Brenda Wareing (Family Friend) on: Mar 22, 2026

Rick has been my neighbour for 25 plus years. He's been an inspiration to our neighbourhood. He will be very much missed. Always thinking to help his close neighbours clearing snow and keeping the fire hydrant clear of snow for all. Never forgotten especially his kindness. Saying hi in return. His presence will be missed. He was a good man. Rest in peace Rick in the heavens.......Bonnie - Posted by: Bonnie Millar (Next door neighbour) on: Mar 21, 2026
