JENNIE BLUNDELL

December 16, 1930 - March 14, 2026

Jennie passed away suddenly at Health Science Centre on Saturday, March 14, 2026.

Jennie is survived by her two sons, four grandchildren and five (soon to be six) great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents and her husband Jim.

Jennie was born in Winnipeg and grew up in the West Kildonan area. She was married to Jim on September 12, 1953. She worked for the Bank of Montreal and later for Jefferson Junior High. Jennie was a volunteer member of the City of West Kildonan citizens advisory committee. She was involved in the West Kildonan Bowling Club and volunteered her time to the WKMCC and Seven Oaks Minor Hockey Association. Along with others, she successfully organized the much loved and anticipated Seven Oaks days in the early 1970s. Jennie and Jim were also dedicated volunteers with the Seven Oaks Raiders Junior Hockey Club for over 30 years. They, along with Dave Levine and others, reestablished a MMJHL hockey team in the Seven Oaks area of Winnipeg.

For 50 years Jennie and Jim spent the summers at their cottage in Sandy Hook on Lake Winnipeg. They volunteered their time at the Sandy Hook Community Club. Over the years they travelled extensively including Canada, Australia, UK, US, along with several cruises.

A private family service will be planned at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jennie’s name to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Manitoba.
