It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Brian Michael Woods (Woody) on February 17, 2026, in Mexico, his "happy place", at the age of 65.
Brian was born in Cornwall, Ontario, to Maurice and Anita Woods. He attended Cornwall Collegiate and Vocational School (CCVS) and upon graduating, moved west to Manitoba. He held a few odd jobs before starting at CN Rail in 1979, where he worked for 37 years until retiring in 2016. Brian was known for his love of many hobbies, including woodworking, fly fishing, cycling, cross-country skiing, gardening, and cooking.
Brian is survived by his wife, Debra; his son, Grant (Lisa); and his grandchildren, Leif and Madeleine. He is also survived by his sister, Linda (Bill); his nieces and nephew; and many other family members.
Brian was predeceased by his parents; his sister, Sandra (Dwayne); and his brother, Gary.
As per his wishes, he has been cremated. A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Canadian Cancer Society, or a charity of your choosing.
