On Saturday, March 28, 2026 we learned that our lovely Jenn had passed away in the hospital at Sioux Lookout. She had been living with chronic health issues for a few years, but her passing was sudden and unexpected. She leaves many with a deep lasting sorrow, and many happy memories.
Jenn was born on the first day of spring, 1981 and grew up on an acreage just outside of Brandon. She attended school at Forrest Elementary and Elton Collegiate and although she had many interests and talents, once she saw a group of children playing the violin she decided that's what she wanted to do. Throughout her school years she was often seen at music festivals and fiddle contests with her close musical friends.
She studied music at Brandon University and went on to play violin with the Thunder Bay Symphony Orchestra and the Aurora Borealis Consortium and with the active gigging community there. During her years in Thunder Bay she made many lasting friendships.
After leaving Thunder Bay, Jenn moved to Sioux Lookout. There she found a community she truly loved. Her spirit, generosity and sense of fun made it easy for her to make friends. She spent much of her time caring for their pets and their children. She spoke often of her little godson Trapper, whom she loved as her own. She will be deeply missed by her friends, their children and her many animal companions.
Jenn's partner Carl Norman of Sioux Lookout (and, of course Gizmo their kitty), her mom Judy (Keith) and dad Greg (Anne), her brother Chris (Ainsley) and sister Holly (Geoff) as well as all her aunts and uncles and cousins love her dearly and mourn her passing.
If you wish, please make a donation to your local animal shelter in Jenn's memory.
