GLENICE ARNDT

1942 - 2026

It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Glenice Arndt at the age of 83.

Glenice will be lovingly remembered by her children, son Roy Jr. and daughter Sherilyn; grandchildren, Andrew (Emily) and Julianna; sister Linda (Joe); and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband Roy and her parents, Thelma and Harold Doughty.

Glenice was born May 15, 1942 in Flin Flon, MB. Her family later moved to Swan River, MB, and then Kamsack, SK. After graduating Grade 12, she moved to Winnipeg where she worked at Vital Statistics. She met her future husband Roy, married, and raised their family in Winnipeg. She treasured her summers at West Hawk Lake and made many wonderful memories there.

After retiring, they moved to the family cottage at Falcon Lake and made it their home for many years. Glenice volunteered at Falcon Lake School and worked at the mini golf course during the summer. She enjoyed her walking group and made many friends through it. Glenice also started an aerobics class at the community club. Glenice and Roy also enjoyed the many trips they took together to the Shooting Star Casino. Glenice had a love of curling and was an enthusiastic fan of the Winnipeg Jets.

After being diagnosed with dementia, she moved to River Ridge, a care home in Winnipeg, where she was supported by her special friend Wayne.

Cremation has taken place. A celebration of her life is being planned for summer at the Falcon Lake Community Centre.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society or an animal shelter of your choice.

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • I was saddened to learn of Glenice’s passing. We grew up together at Kamsack SK. We went all through school together graduating from KCI in 1960. She was also a very close friend of my wife Evelyn who regrettably passed in 2025. They shared an apartment here in Winnipeg. I met Roy during that time. Evelyn and I were married in 1963 and Glenice and Roy were both in our wedding party. We had such fun times together. Evelyn and I moved back to Winnipeg in 1990 and we reconnected with them. So many fond memories of our time together. RIP Glenice. Glenn Clark - Posted by: Glenn Clark (Friend) on: May 25, 2026
