Cornelius Krause, aged 89, of Winnipeg, MB, passed away peacefully on April 13, 2026, at Deer Lodge Centre.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 68 years, Dora (née Kliewer); daughters, Cheryl (Ed) and Vera (Larry); grandchildren, Stephen (Allysa), Kimberley (Ryan), Janna and Joshua; great-granddaughter Bella; and many relatives and friends.
Born May 10, 1936, in Silberfeld, MB, Cornelius was raised on the family farm. He married Dora on July 26, 1958, in Niverville, and they later settled in Winnipeg. A crane operator with R. Litz & Sons, he retired in 1999. Cornelius enjoyed summers in Petersfield, playing Cribbage, Crokinole, and Scrabble, and was an active member of Sargent Ave Mennonite Church.
A funeral service will be held April 22, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, MB, with interment at Hespeler Cemetery, Niverville.
Donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba.
