Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryZBIGNIEW OSCIAK
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Zbigniew Osciak, who passed away peacefully at his home on Monday April 6, 2026.
Zbyszek was predeceased by his beloved mother Stefania; father Jan and brother Stasio. He is deeply mourned by his sister Krystyna (Romuald); his children Michal (Dawn) and Agata (Adam); his cherished grandchildren Anyastazia, Wooderson and Mischa; as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Born on March 30, 1954, in Chelm, Poland, to Stefania and Jan, Zbyszek grew up alongside his sister Krystyna and his brother Stasio, who sadly passed away as an infant. In 1978, Zbyszek married Bozena, the mother of his children Michal and Agata and together they built their early family life in Jamno.
In 1987, Zbyszek and Krystyna together with their respective families joined their father Jan in Winnipeg to be with their mother during her final days after her courageous battle with cancer. Zbyszek went on to make Winnipeg his home, where he established his own roofing and construction business. Known to many as “Ziggy,” he quickly earned a reputation as a hardworking, dependable, and skilled tradesman.
Zbyszek was known for his outgoing, larger‑than‑life personality. He loved his family and was a loyal and generous friend. Physically strong and endlessly resourceful, he took pride in his work and had a lifelong passion for collecting all kinds of treasures. Zbyszek loved a good celebration and was happiest when hosting friends, family, and even strangers, always ensuring everyone felt welcome and were having a good time.
Travel brought Zbyszek immense joy. He loved exploring the world with friends, attending Formula 1 races in Montreal, Italy, and even Monaco, with a particularly memorable journey to Taiwan adding to his many adventures. He also cherished a special trip to Disney World with his former long term partner, Marzena, along with his children and grandchildren. Most recently, Zbyszek embarked on a month long cruise throughout Mexico with a dear friend, returning home already making plans for his next adventure.
Zbyszek will be remembered for his strength, sense of humour, helpful nature, and work ethic. His absence leaves a void that cannot be filled, but his spirit and legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Zbyszek’s name and in memory of his mother, Stefania, may be made to CancerCare Manitoba or Radio Polonia, which he enjoyed and supported for many decades.
Prayers will be held at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street, on Monday, April 20, at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Ghost Parish, 341 Selkirk Avenue, on Tuesday, April 21, at 10:00 a.m., followed by burial. A luncheon will follow at Holy Ghost Parish.
