After a brief illness, it is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Harlan (Hal) Dodds, the only child of Edna and Wilfred Dodds.
He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Jacqueline; step-children, Elaine Tanguay (Louis), Brent Hambleton, daughter-in-law Kristine Hambleton. His grandchildren, who held a very special place in his heart, Nolan, Eric (Fallon), Kayla (Nathan), Kendra (Connor), Kallie (Nic), Sophia and Christian and great-grandchildren, Mylo and Avery. He was predeceased by his stepson Michael Hambleton.
As a young man, Hal worked in the mines of northern Manitoba and Ontario, building a strong work ethic that would stay with him throughout his life. He later spent 25 years with Monarch Industries, where he rose to become National Sales and Export Manager.
Hal had a deep appreciation for the outdoors enjoying fishing, pheasant hunting, and golf. He especially cherished time spent at the summer cottage with Jackie, where days at the lake were filled with simple pleasures and lasting memories with family and friends.
Cremation has taken place. A celebration honouring Hal’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 13, 2026 at Rae and Jerry’s Steak House, 1405 Portage Avenue.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
