Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryTIMOTHY CORDELL BESTLAND
It is with profound sadness the family of Timothy Cordell Bestland (“Tim”) announces his sudden passing on April 21, 2026, at the age of 66. Though our hearts are broken, we hold close the memories, laughter and quiet moments that made Tim so deeply loved.
Tim was born and raised in Brunkild, Manitoba, moving to Vancouver in 1992 and eventually settling in Edmonton.
Tim was predeceased by his father Cordell; close friend and travel partner Sid Pike; beloved honorary nephew, Cody Rempel; and cousin Scott Thompson.
He is lovingly remembered by his mother, Beverley and his siblings Naomi (Brian) Janzen, Matt (Anita) Bestland, Adrienne Bestland and numerous Aunts, Uncles and cousins.
Tim was a proud uncle to Colton, Landon (Nikki), Rebecca (Mike), Hannah (Derek), Olivia, Everett (Kalin) and Abby (Brock), and a great uncle to Elliott.
He also shared a close and special bond with his longtime best friend, Karen Winter. Whether at Karen’s home in California, traveling throughout the United States, or on a memorable trip to Spain, they created many wonderful and lasting memories together.
Tim also deeply cherished his time with his bonus family Joanne and Keith Rempel along with their family: Courtney (Corey) Schrof, Adam (Kirsten) Rempel, Jordy (Derek) Fast. Tim also held a very special place in his heart as a much-loved uncle to Cale, Carter, Cole and Owen. Tim spent many special years going to the Brick’s cabin and then to Joanne and Keith’s cabin where he was always made part of the family. Tim was always excited for his next trip to the lake, and loved sharing the stories and memories from those times with family and friends.
Sports were always a big part of Tim’s life. Whether it be playing hockey, baseball, golf or a good game of cards, Tim was known for his good-hearted teasing and sense of humor.
Tim began his professional journey at just 19 years old with Inland Cement in Winnipeg, building a lifelong career in the industry. As Inland later became Heidelberg Materials, his hard work and strong leadership skills led him to managerial roles in Vancouver and Edmonton. After 43 years of dedicated service, Tim retired in 2023. He was later invited back as a consultant to the Delta, BC plant, an honour he held with great pride. He approached his work with dedication, care, and a strong sense of responsibility.
We were so proud of all that he achieved and the life he built through his work.
He will be deeply missed by his family, many friends, colleagues, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be missed by many.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the many friends who have reached out during this difficult time. The messages are all the same, Tim was one of the good guys.
Please join us as we gather to celebrate Tim’s life, share memories, and honour the love and laughter he brought to those around him. The Celebration of Life will be held at Brunkild Hall on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at 3:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation in Tim’s memory.
