It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Ian, on March 15, 2026 in Thailand, at the age of 70.
Ian is survived by his daughter Lencee Dupuis-Baker of Abbotsford BC; his brother Allan Baker (Candis) of Winnipeg; his sister Marcia Baker (Wayne) of Mississauga; and Lencee’s mother, Gisele Dupuis of Abbotsford.
Ian was born in Winnipeg, and after graduating with an Actuarial Science Degree from the University of Manitoba, moved to Toronto for a job with an insurance company. Over the years, he pursued various career opportunities throughout Canada, including in Calgary, Vancouver, Ottawa, Whitehorse, Winnipeg and most recently Regina.
After retirement, Ian decided an adventure was in order, and moved to Pattaya, Thailand in 2022. There, he formed a close circle of friends, enjoyed swimming every day, cycling and he became an avid pool player.
Ian will be remembered as a kind, gentle soul.
Cremation has taken place in Thailand.

To Allan and Marcia we are saddened to hear about the passing of Ian. Time has passed by and we move and the result we loose contact with the family. we are now Living in Vancouver being close to our children and grandchildren. Keep well.
