RANDALL WESTMAN

(RANDY)

April 5, 1950 – April 15, 2026

With broken hearts, we announce the tragic passing of Randall “Randy” Westman on April 15, 2026, at the age of 76.

Randy grew up in River Heights and spent his summers at the family cottage in Matlock. It was there that his lifelong love for the water began. From a young age, he was drawn to boating, and over the years, he was always happiest behind the helm of his many boats.

Randy shared 55 years of marriage with his wife, Wanda. The two met in junior high school in 1964, and together built a life rooted in hard work, commitment, and family.

Before the years at the campground, Randy and Wanda raised their family in their home in Lindenwoods, where their children grew up together and many early family memories were made. It was there that the foundation of their family life was built.

Randy was also an integral part of the family business, Manitoba Pant, a clothing factory, where he worked alongside his father, Bob. His time there reflected the same steady work ethic and commitment that would carry through into the next chapter of his life.

In 1995, Randy and Wanda purchased the family campground, Netley Resorts. Over the next 30 years, he dedicated much of his life to the campground, putting in long hours and helping shape it into a place that became familiar to so many over the years.

Randy was known for his ability to fix just about anything. He rarely hired anyone and took pride in doing things himself, whether it was maintaining equipment, working on projects, or repairing vehicles. It was simply part of who he was—capable, hands-on, and self-reliant.

He is survived by his wife, Wanda; their children, Steven, Scott and their families, and Stacey and her husband, Eslam; his granddaughter Braxton, and her son Hendrix; as well as many grandchildren, extended family, and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Bob and Elsie Westman, and Braxton’s father, Chris Enns.

Randy’s life followed the rhythm of the seasons. For many years, he and Wanda spent their winters in Texas, something they both looked forward to each year. It was a time they truly enjoyed together, and over the years they formed many lasting friendships there.

Summers were spent at the campground, where work and daily life were deeply intertwined. For his family, those years created a shared experience that defined much of their lives.

Much of the family’s time together was spent on the road, camping in the family motorhome and traveling throughout Canada and the United States. Those trips became a way of life—something the whole family experienced together. They weren’t just vacations, but a constant thread through the years.

Some of the most special memories were spent on the water. Wanda, Stacey, and Braxton share many memories of long boat rides out to Lake Winnipeg, where they would spend the day together on a quiet, private beach. Those days remain some of the most meaningful moments they shared.

Randy also saw his family grow into the next generations. He was “Papa” to Braxton and Hendrix, and he saw them daily. He would light up instantly when he saw Hendrix, loving every moment of watching him grow and hearing the new things he would say each day. Time spent with Hendrix brought moments of lightness and connection—especially in the playful routines they shared, like sneaking the last sips from his Pepsi.

Over the years, Randy experienced both closeness and distance within relationships, as many do, and those chapters were part of the life he lived.

Randy was someone who lived life in his own way—steady, routine-driven, and grounded in the work and life he built over the years. His presence, both in the family and through the campground, leaves behind a lasting imprint.

The family would like to thank everyone who has shown kindness, support, and compassion during this difficult time.

A private celebration of Randy’s life will be held at a later date.
