Kevin and I were both bitten by the "Games" bug while working on the Winnipeg 1999 Pan American Games, and had the opportunity to work together again at the Vancouver 2010 Olympics. Bigger than life and always wearing a smile, Kevin had such an impact on the people he worked with, in and out of the office. Although we didn't maintain a close friendship in Vancouver - where we both ended up settling - we always seemed to end up at the same stages at Folk Fest, catching up and sharing a big bear hug! - Posted by: Jennifer Strutt (Friend and Colleague) on: May 16, 2026

I am sorry to hear of Kevin’s passing. We had just recently reconnected and we were hoping to see him the next time he came back to Winnipeg. He was a ton of fun to work with and we did some reminiscing. Watt Street staff had a special relationship and the friendships have lasted a lifetime. Sometimes I think Heaven is getting way too many co-workers too quickly. They must be having some great crib games…… lol he will be missed! - Posted by: Terry Lynne Hause (formerly Welling) (Co-worker) on: May 09, 2026

Our deepest sympathies on the passing of Kevin. Such a strong, courageous, generous person he was and left this earth far too soon. Thanks Kev for all the great times we shared together, especially in the last 20 years as we both found ourselves working and living out here on the west coast. We will miss you dearly. Rest in peace. Love Wendy and Todd. - Posted by: Todd Martin (Cousin) on: May 09, 2026

I worked with Kevin as part of the team that put on the Olympics in Vancouver. "Heavy Kevvy" was a delight to work with and spend time with. He always dealt with the high pressure, high stakes world of Olympic planning with an attitude of cheer and optimism. We were both members of "the Curmudgeon Club", who would get together regularly, sometimes over a drink, and share some hilarious over the top complaining about just about everything. I have many fond memories of Kev that I will hold in my heart forever. He will be missed. - Posted by: Dave Whittier (Friend) on: May 09, 2026
