Clare passed away in the early morning hours of May 5, 2026 at Park Manor Care Home at the age of 95 years.
Predeceased by his wife Nancy; parents, Thomas and Catherine; brothers, Bill and Ernie, and sister Cathy Kobs. Clare is survived by his sons, Tim (Maureen) and Rory; eight grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren (a great-granddaughter is expected in June); along with other extended family and friends.
Clare grew up in the West End and worked for B.A. Robinson for many years. After retirement he worked part time at Beaver Lumber.
Clare and Nancy were married in 1952 and were together for 71 years. They lived on McMeans Avenue West in Transcona for many years, where they raised their family. They later enjoyed apartment life at Appleton Estates on Niakwa Road, until poor health necessitated a move to Park Manor.
Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, May 14, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., at E.J. Coutu Funeral Home, 680 Archibald Street.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba.
The family wishes to thank the wonderful staff at Park Manor Care Home for the excellent care they gave to Clare during the time he resided there.
