It was my good fortune to meet Jack when he and Bud Dickson started “Canoe Canada” in Atikokan. He was our “godfather” and decided to sell his shares to me …. when I had nothing but enthusiasm. He steered us through those early years and I owe him everything. Jack was the epitome of Canadian entrepreneurship. He showed that in “McTaggarts” and “Canoe Canada”. I was lucky enough to keep in touch with him through his later years. We shared an interest in airplanes and even when his eyesight failed, he was still sharp as a tack. I will remember his voice and hearty chuckle . I have always admired Jack so much. He led a great life and will be in my heart forever. - Posted by: Jim Clark (Friend and business partner) on: May 25, 2026

Great uncle Jack lived up to that title, as far as I'm concerned. I always enjoyed our visits, few as they were (especially in more recent years), but I was really happy we got to share a family brunch while passing through Winnipeg a couple years ago. You'll be missed, Jack. You were one of the good ones. - Posted by: Stu McCuaig (Great nephew, if that's a thing.) on: May 25, 2026
