Although I only met Tova on a few occasions, she was always a warm and genuine lady. Having grown up in Melfort, I spent many hours at the home of Mr. and Mrs Vickar, Larry, Reva and Faye. I was saddened to read of Tova’s passing and my sincerest condolences go out to Larry, Samuel, Steven, Reva, Alan and their family, and Faye’s family. My heartfelt sympathies to all of the Vickar family. This has been a sad year for the family, but be comforted that Tova and Faye are together and watching over you and be forever in your hearts. It was a genuine pleasure to be part of the team of staff and volunteers who served at Tova Cafe in its early years. The interest, support and kindness of Tova and her husband Larry in supporting the Winnipeg community to grow in inclusion has been important but also filled with many meaningful relationships and joy. I know that Tova’s smile will be missed. Rest in peace with those who have gone ahead of you. - Posted by: Liz Gauthier (Team Tova) on: Jun 02, 2026

Some people don’t just listen to music… they live in it. Today, we mourn the loss of a truly beautiful soul. Over the years, Tova brought so much joy, positivity, light, and innocence into every moment we shared together. From singing on stage in front of sold-out audiences, to recording songs together, to the quiet behind-the-scenes moments filled with laughter and music , her spirit was always pure, genuine, and authentic. Even as life became more challenging, music continued to bring her alive in the most beautiful way. Her joy was contagious, her smile unforgettable, and her presence always filled every room with positive spirits, and warmth. As a singer and as a human being, one of the greatest privileges of my life has been witnessing just how powerful music can truly be… to see someone become so genuinely happy, free, and full of joy in those moments. Tova reminded me of that gift over and over again. Her spirit touched an entire community that grew to love seeing her smile, her excitement, and her beautiful presence. Sending our deepest love, prayers, and condolences to the entire Vickar family during this difficult time. May her memory forever be a blessing. ❤️ https://www.instagram.com/reel/DYqq6Mhgd8S/?igsh=MTJ6dTI4OHIxN3VscA== - Posted by: Paul ong (Family friend) on: May 28, 2026

Having known Tova for several years, what always stood out to me was the joy, kindness, compassion, and generosity she so naturally embodied. I was blessed to know her through Filipino community events and through the many times she and Larry joined my podcast to promote benefit concerts, fundraisers, and outreach programs they passionately supported as sponsors and advocates. She carried an energy that seemed larger than life and somehow untouched by the passage of time, which is why news of her passing came as such a profound shock to so many of us who knew her. She was simply one of those rare people you could never imagine being gone. Our deepest condolences to Larry, their sons, and the entire Vickar family. May Tova rest in eternal glory. Though the angels may have welcomed her home, her kindness, generosity, and vibrant spirit will continue to echo through the countless lives she touched. - Posted by: Kris Ontong (community colleague) on: May 27, 2026

I was totally shocked to hear about Tova. I knew she was very involved in Transcona that that's where I live now and that's where I took my car when I first moved here, but I sold that car but anyway I a lot of people talk about it all that she did in the neighborhood and I did not get to see her while I was here, but I just pray God's blessings upon her and I know that she will truly be blessed and I just pray for the family God bless - Posted by: Joan Sasley Fenske (A neighbour from years ago on Woodcrest Drive) on: May 25, 2026
