JANE JACOBSON

(nee STRILCHUK,

 formerly SMITH)

Jane Jacobson, age 77, after a short battle with cancer, became an Angel with God on May 28, 2026.

Born in Dauphin, Manitoba, Jane was the cherished daughter of Olga Sereda Strilchuk and William Strilchuk. She grew up alongside her twin sister, Judith Strilchuk, and brother, Wayne Strilchuk.

Jane will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Terrance Jacobson; daughters, Sonya Faria and Tanya Cox; and grandchildren, Isabella and Isaac Faria, who brought immense joy and pride to her life. She will also be remembered during her time in Churchill Manitoba shared with her former husband, Leonard Smith.

A beloved elementary school teacher at the Duke of Marlborough School in Churchill, Manitoba, Jane dedicated her career to nurturing and inspiring her students. Her patience, kindness, and unwavering belief in the potential of every child left a lasting impact on countless students and families. Teaching was more than a profession to Jane - it was a calling that reflected her generous heart and deep commitment to others and her community. She continued working as a teacher assistant in Winnipeg School One Division once she left the north.

A woman of profound faith, Jane lived her life guided by her love of God. She was known for her warmth, compassion, and gentle spirit. Friends and family alike were drawn to her caring nature, thoughtful encouragement, and genuine interest in the lives of others.

Jane found beauty in the world around her and expressed it through her many creative pursuits. She loved travel and photography, painting, cooking and had a special gift for working with flowers.

Though her passing leaves a profound void, her family takes comfort in celebrating a life richly lived - a life filled with faith, love, service, creativity, and devotion to family. Her legacy lives on in the students she taught, the family she cherished, and the many lives she touched with her kindness and grace.

Jane will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.
